How many distinct 4 letter words can be formed from the letters TURKEY? Answer key says 6C4 (15).. i think it's 6P4 (360)? 6% of 14 2/7 = ? If f(x) = x^2 then the slope of the line normal to f at x = 1 is ?

The 06-07 stated/geometry problem list is posted on the uil site. Are all (or most) of the problems on the 06-07 tests going to be based off ones from this list?

I was destroyed by this test: 152. What makes me sooo mad about it was that I wasted waaaay too much time on stuff that I eventually ended up getting wrong anyway... And that kept me from completing the easier last section of the test... But I can't stand skipping problems... It always messes with my mind...

I have no knowledge of UIL CS but the scores in my district the past year were very low. I was wondering how long it would take to learn the basics of the UIL CS test and if there are any available web sites to learn the basics. Also, has anyone seen the UIL State Tests from 06 yet online?

I saw about 10 problems in the form: (10a+b)(10a+(b-5)) like 71*74. Is the shortcut: 50a(2a+1) + b(b-5)? It seems that there should be a faster way. I do these by foiling, but if there is a faster way, I'd like to hear it. - Zack -

14 x 24 x 34 (i created this one) i follow the steps on from the main page, reduce to 10 x (24 +(4+4+2)) x 30. which is 10200, 11% away from the acutal answer. is there a better, surer approach? how do i know when that method works?

1) 3^14 / 7 has a remainder of... couldn't quickly find a repeating pattern as far as 3^1 mod 7, 3^2 mod 7 etc. 2) 60^2 + 48^2 - 12^2 (a+b)^2 + a^2 - b^2 = 2a^2 + 2ab quick way to do 2(48)^2 + 2(48)(12)?

I think Brad mentioned that he's taking every test from 1990-2006, which means enough tests to keep him occupied the entire summer: 5 tests / year * 16 years = 80 tests to take. Which means all summer long... I say that we all do the same, and keep up a test score log to see how we improve/stack up agai...

Before i knew about this website i was making in the low hundreds and barely getting to #40 on a test. Now i am making in the high one hundreds and getting to #55 at least. I was wondering how to increase my speed though. Does anyone have any suggestions?
