How many distinct 4 letter words can be formed from the letters TURKEY? Answer key says 6C4 (15).. i think it's 6P4 (360)?

6% of 14 2/7 = ?

If f(x) = x^2 then the slope of the line normal to f at x = 1 is ?

1.  I think you are right on this one.  Since it said "distinct" 4 letter words, then it is not just asking for different combinations.

2.  There are different ways to answer this question.  The easiest way would be to recognize that 14 2/7= 100/7.  Therefore, 1% would be 1/7.  6% would equal 6/7.

3.  First of all, take the derivative of x^2.  This will get you 2x.  Since you want the slope at x=1, sub in 1 for x.  2(1)=2.

3. yes the slope of f at 1 is 2, but Anonymous is one step short -- the questions asks for the normal line -- the one that's perpendicular to it -- neg. recipr. -- -1/2

Oops, I didn't sign in, did I? But you'll know who I am.

Best Wishes
