From kashhustler's post of his schedule on texasmath.org. The Klein Oak meet is also on the texasmath's calendar. I need to find out if my school is going to TMSCA State (.001% probability) or if I can get there by myself.
About the RAM stuff - The Number Sense Magic book would be good for someone who has never seen NS stuff before. There were only one or two things in it that I hadn't seen before on this website or from this board / the texasmath message board. The tests are pretty easy.. each test has the exact same things on it. There aren't many trick questions. As for the answer key... It has more mistakes than my tests do, and I'm not making 400s. Also, a packet of 10 of these tests is 40 bucks. $4 / test compared to Dr. Numsen's 40 cents / test (120 for $50)
Yeah, my teacher has a copy of that now that you mention it. Ram NS isn't as good as Dr. Numsen NS. I see the Klien Oak meet on TMSCA now, but I think I'm going to Round Rock or O'conner.
Ok, so I just found out that one of my teammates cannot make it to the Jersey Village CS Hands on meet. I really, really, need one of you to substitute in Devon's place. We're pretty good, and believe me - Its fun! Jersey Village HS is located in Houston, so it shouldnt be that bad of a drive. Can either of yall make the drive to Jersey Village HS on Jan 6th? The contest is from 10-12, but you gotta be there at 9:30 for breifing and set up. We just need an extra body who can do some 3 pointers. Can either of yall make it?
Feb 3rd, i don't know. 5A people are all alienish to me. I usually have nothing to do with them, and I'm better off not having anything to do with them because on math they can beat the crap out of me. Getting the picture is not necessary, because I'd already got it and it looked gory. I will think about it, though.
Feb 17 sounds wonderful. Needville is not far at all. What kind of tests are they going to be doing? TMSCA what number?
Feb 24, Tuloso-Midway, my school is going. It's at least 4.5 hours for both of yall though, so I don't know. Fly to Corpus of something. I had dominated the MA and NS of that meet for 2 years already, I'd like to see some challenge.
Yeah, you take the AMC at your own school. If you advance, I think you might go to a regional site, but I'm not sure.
Needville sounds like either TMSCA or 3rd party. I found out about in on the UIL website, but ya never know. I think this might be the meet that we bring a full out team to as long as Brad has no conflicts.
I actually would like to look into the Dulles Sugarland meet. There are many positives. Good competition. You know that they're using TMSCA materials. If you place here, you can almost be promised a spot at state individually. Its reletively close, and a great warm-up for Invite B. Brad is your school going to this, or can you be part of the team on this day?
Just so you guys know, if we do go to a meet together, I plan on bringing 2-3 other Dripping Springs guys that usually come with me. We should have a full team in all categories. Theoretically we could win a meet with our math and science team. Go Tyrannosaurs!
So yeah, I need to get back to application work...
Jan 6: I can probably make it to Jersey Village. I'll figure out for sure within the next week. Do I need to register or did you already do it?
Jan 13: UIL A @ Klein w/ my school
Jan 20: -
Jan 27: -
Feb 3: I can do Dulles. I'm pretty sure my school is only doing UIL A & B before district so I can be on your team. I might persuade 1 or 2 other people (aka my NS team) to come along for the practice but I don't know.
Feb 10: School went to Livingston HS for UIL B this weekend last year. I think we're going to it again, but I'll find out for sure after the break.
Feb 17: Most likely I can go. I'm getting my driver's license in a week so I obviously haven't done any long drives without someone in the car nor do I have my own car. I'd have to figure out the logistics of driving myself or getting someone to take/pick me up.

Mar 17: Hoping to persuade school to go to TMSCA State
edit: It's also important that we figure out what tests they're giving @ Needville. ie: Make sure it's not UIL B
I'm looking into regestration for Jersey Village. The guy never replied to me on whether or not I can bring an independant team to the competition. I emailed him again, and I'll keep you up to date if he replies soon.
I like the idea of Dulles on the 3rd. Bring as many people as you want. They'll all be added to the team I'll bring, and before you know it, we'll outnumber some of the smaller schools at the meet. The more the merrier, I always say. I'm pretty sure that I can get this one to work, but I need to make sure that our school hasnt chosen to go anywhere on this date after the break. If we go to Dulles, you need to make sure that you tell your team that they are going up against some of the best competition in the state, and not to expect too much since Klien and other powerhouses should be there.
Feb 17th should be the date that Sam will be able to go as well. I'm gonna email the administrator after the break to make sure that the tests arent B, and that we can indeed compete.
Arg. Jersey Village is a no go. The guy said that he needs us to provide a school sponsor, and well... That isnt gonna happen. It seems that alot of school in the houston area operate in this manner. There must be alot of school related lawsuits being filed over this kinda thing or something, because I've never run into this problem anywhere else. Arg.
Oh, and on that last post, I think I made too much of a big deal about Klien. Their team is good, but still beatable, and besides, they dont have any seniors! Woot. If they divy out awards by grade level, then we're in the clear. One school that I have found very interesting lately is Elkins. They seem to have a pretty solid team this year, and a young one at that. It should be interesting to track their success throughout the season, as well as our own.
Anyway, I'm gonna go ahead and email the Dulles, Needville and Tuloso-Midway administrator to see if I can enter an independant team. I'll keep you updated as emails start coming back.
