Leaving tomorrow (thursday) morning. Not sure when I'll be on campus friday.. but i'll definitely be at NS/calc testing and then their respective awards (although i want to go to the science awards which is half an hour before calc... i'll figure it out :/). I'll be sporting my "done in 600 seconds" t shirt from TCM

Amen.
State has always been exhilarating, this year especially. I'm so glad that I got all I wanted. I went to the Blanton Museum, ate at and experienced 6th street after 10 (we came back unscathed), had a wonderful dinner and conversation with my coach's brother, a engineering professor, and his wife, an English professor, got nothing but gold medals and bumper stickers, met Brad, Roel, Zack and the DS people, Amy, Susan, Wes, Kevin, Michael... Even the Klein coach said hi to me like she was my friend or something! ...AND SAM STRIPLING. And the lunch turned out to be almost a party--unexpected sweet and awesome. Altogether, LUVD IT.
I wish I can do this all over again.
Congrats to and nice to meet alla yall.

Congrats to all. Wow. It was quite an experience to say the least. I guess i am happy with how i did. Can't really expect much more. 207. The goal was to break 200 for the first time, so i guess i should be happy. It was quite hard to to stay focused during the test while everyone was flipping like crazy. I didn't help that the person next to me decided to flip as loud and obnoxiously as possible. Oh well. It was cool. I plan on taking 2 tests a day from now on till the first test next year.

I looked over my test and wanted to shoot myself. Only got to 54 and missed 7. I went blank on the extravagant number question. Ended up skipping it. Had 2 mark overs. :sigh: Oh. and i missed number 10. So in all, i had 4 stupid mistakes out of the 7 i missed.

I guess i just need to work harder...

HA! I remember that cacophonous flip. It was obviously that the person was sitting quite a way from me, yet his deliberate effort is very evident over the distance. I also remember raising and tilting my head and smiling slightly toward the noise... I wasn't focusing on my contest very well, was I lol?
Do you know who the person was? The guy said beside me was a senior from McGregory with a 1st name of Tyler (turned out to be Tyler Arp, whose name I recognize) who said he will go to the Naval Academy... Admirable individual, medalled in 2A too with a 220.

hearing all of the flipping was actually really interesting. I heard a couple (1 or 2) people flip before me (Stephen and Roel maybe), and they were quiet. Then like a minute or two after I did it, a bunch of people tried to flip really loud and i was like ... it doesn't work if 10 people have done it before you :P

My coach said that he could hear the flipping in the hallway. lol. I think it should be a disqualification if you flip your test really loud. Idk. I know that it is used as intimidation, but that can distract many people. Its not that hard to flip over a piece of paper without making any noise.

lol. But it varies with individual. If there are people for whom it's not hard to flip w/o much noise, then there will be those for whom it's hard not to make noise. I had a guy sitting beside me in one of the stupid practice meets I went to. The guy cannot stop fidgeting when he's intellectually stimulated--he wore nylon jacket and nylon pants too, imagine THAT! I durst not. What kind of havoc would such an individual have wrought if he comes to state--then it won't be just the coaches in the hallway, people in TCC would be suffering too.
