Hmmm....Well.....I just took my District tests today and I'm very pissed off.
Ns-I took the District 2 test and I only worked 37 problems and missed 5. I was very disappointed at this. The test was VERY SLOW for me and I just couldn't concentrate. Plus...when the timer went off for the test to end, my digital timer still had a little over a minute to go. I showed the room monitor and all he said was..."Well...everyone got the same amount of time." I wanted to punch him because the next few problems were easy and could've raised my score. I ended up with a 140 and still got first place. That's pathetic. I feel cheated.
Math-&*$# Don't wanna go there. It will depress me even more.
Don't worry about the score. the important thing is that you advanced.. there are plenty of people who would like to still have another NS test to take this school year. Right after getting a 400 @ tmsca state, I dropped over 150 pts to a 247 on the district 1 NS... wasn't my best day either but you gotta focus on the regional NS test now
lol, np but today was quite a bad day tho NS: 64/6=266; 1st ; Skipd 2; I'm satisfied with my accuracy, even tho the mistakes are all stupid CA: 140sth; 6th; missd WAY too many crunchers, and didn't do enough for the rest, missed like 26 SC: 164; 1st; took me by surprise, I thot I was done for, it turned out that the competitors are not that competitive; Rockport again was fishy in the grading--they moved the grading room to some other place and didn't announce it, so that no other coach knew where to grade. It took them more than 4 hours to just grade some 30 odd tests (another strang thg--they didn't even give us the required UIL SC answer sheet, but the TMSCA scantron... very suspicious). It took so long because there were only 2 grades, and... you guessed it, they were ALL Rockport's coaches. CS: 152; 4th; yeah yeah, even more fishy stuff. They tried to explain it to us why I got moved from 3rd to the 4th. But certainly there were some underhand maneuvers; the most blatant violation they had--letting 6 people take the District test (tho they said the other two were only there for "the practice.") MA: 51/7=244; 1st; I started out fine, but right in the middle, I started to not feel like it. I was slowed down a LOT in the middle, and I had only 40 done when I had less than 5 minutes left. Even tho I got 11 more done in the Final Frenzy, guess it didn't help that much.
So, advancing in NS, MA, CS. Finally I'll get to have nice long breaks in regionals.
My coach deliberately horded all the tests away from me, so I won't see them tomorrow. The thing about NS tests are there are so many questions you'd do that it's rare to remember many of them afterwards. It was slow, times evaporated extraordinarily quickly for that test. I remember moving to the fourth column with more than a minute left... and I ended up only finishing 64, lol. Yeah, I saw your post, EnglandDude, and thx for your congratulations. I'll be able to get the tests tomorrow and hopefully, we'll be able to lawfully discuss it.
I'm sorry. Tough break. What did you make on the science test? District 2 was terrible for me. I can't wait till i can take the District 1 test. Most scores were lower than usual. The test was kind of different than the Invitationals. I hope the Regionals test is a little more on the same lines as the Invitationals. It's definitely gonna be harder...so i gotta a lotta studying and test taking to do. I get my district tests back 2morrow. There will be a butt load of questions for you on this forum.lol.
lol, I don't know. I conjecture that between Regional and State there's bound to be an easier test. And I don't know how bad D1 is until I see the tests, but yeah, it's gotta be close. Yeah, bring on your buttload, if Brad don't tackle them all before anybody else, I'll see what I can do.
Well...i couldn't get my district tests today, so i guess the questions will have to wait. It sucks b cuz i was really eager to see my tests but my coach wasn't at school today, therefore no tests for me. Have you guys gotten your tests? Anyways, how are yall preparing for regionals. Do yall have a special book of tricks or something like that, or do you just use the math magic website. What i am trying to say is what are the best resources for numbersense. My coach got us tests from rammaterials but the tests are soooo much easier than UIL and TMSCA tests.
Also...when i was just browsing around on the Texasmath forum, i came upon LaTeX. What does that mean? I'm CoNfUsEd...
practice: when i was learning stuff i used this website and asked people on this forum and texasmath.org. tests i like : all the UIL ones, Dr. Numsen tests, TMSCA tests... as you said, RAM tests are really easy.. i went through a packet of 20 of those and my average score was like a 373 or 382 :P
you can use LaTeX to write math text stuff in an easy to read form (fractions/expressions can be easily made)
wow a 140 on that test thats nothing compared to my score... i would love to be as good as you but i still say wow to that and to everyone else scoring even higher
