Hey. I have never taken a TMSCA test and my coach signed me up for TMSCA State. Lol. Can someone please tell me what TMSCA tests are like and how hard they are compared to UIL tests. I'm excited about going, but I'm also a tad bit nervous about it.

Anyone's help would be really appreciated!!!

What kind of problems are most likely on TMSCA tests???

SOMEONE HELP.....PLEASE!!!   =]

Here's some soothing news--the TMSCA State NS and MA tests are written by Mr. White, who is the UIL State director for the events aforesaid. He writes the UIL SAC, A, B, District 1&2, Regional, State, TMSCA 6 and TMSCA State, if I remember it right. So if you're accustomed to UIL NS and MA tests, I don't think you should worry too much about confronting something completely new.
As to CA and SC, I don't know at all. This year will be my debut (and also, sadly, my finale) in TMSCA, but things can be that bad. Just do your best.
I think it's very wise of your coach to sign you up for it. It'll be a exhausting but exhilarating experience, I bet, also a great indicator of whom you'll be against in the fast approaching UIL season.
Good Luck to you and
Best Wishes

All TMSCA State tests are UIL-written.
The NS, Math, and Calc tests are exactly the same as UIL tests.
The Science test is UIL-written but it has a different format than UIL tests and some of the questions cover topics that usually aren't on UIL tests.

www.texasmath.org has the past two year's TMSCA State tests under the download section

If I were you, I would go to www.texasmath.org and I would go to the downloads section. Now, there should be listings that say 2007 UIL C and 2007 UIL D. Download these tests and print them out. Take each test that your gonna be competing in this coming weekend, and then step back and analyze. Make certain you know everything that you didnt know before inside and out, and in the case of NS tests, take them multiple times to get the shortcuts drilled into your head.

Also, you should see prior State meet tests that you can download. Pull those and take tests from there as well. The key to success in the TMSCA math/science events is to practice. You have Spring Break, I wager, to prepare. If nothing else, you'll feel more confident going into it.

As of now... I am going back over physics and chemistry problems from years past to get ready for the science test. I took the state test from last year, and it was a real shocker in chemistry. I definately need to review more of the AP topics that UIL has neglected this year so far. I've also been doing NS and Calc. Tomorrow I plan on doing chem and math.

Yawn... Soooo tired.

Oh, Anonymous person, where are you from? I might see you at the contest. My name is Zack Ward (senior) and I am from Dripping Springs. Try to catch me and say hi if possible. I'm trying to meet as many people from the math/science community as I can before I graduate.

Zack
