New Calculator and Number Sense workbooks
Permalink

I just recently completed two new workbooks that should be owned by anyone working with Number Sense and Calculator Applications. My new Calculator : A Starter's Kit (Revised Edition) includes some new features : Solving equations on HP33S calculator, Linear Interpolation, Coaching tips on solving word problems, Pythagorean Theorem, Trigonometry (Right Triangles), and articles published in the TMSCA newsletter. Using math knowledge and ways to improve speed in doing the number crunchers is included. Numerous worksheets for practice also include a step by step illustration of how to work the problems using either an SAN or RPN calculator. My new Number Sense workbook is called "Number Sense Magic". I include 18 multiplication shortcuts, a never before seen method of subtraction and doing averages. Explanation of bases and 140 other shortcuts. Most shortcuts appearing on Elementary and Middle School Number Sense are included. These same shortcuts plus many more that are applicable for high school students are included. Visit my website at www.rammaterials.com for more details. I will also be presenting at numerous places this summer. Information on these workshops can be found on the website. A new "featured shortcut" has been on line for several months. Soon it will have a new look. Random Number Sense tricks will be featured and rotated on a daily basis. Plus, soon I will make an announcment of possible DVDs for Number Sense and Calculator. You can also email me at toywiz127@aol.com. I am Leo Ramirez, ex-coach of the McAllen High School Math Wizards.
